With a background in consulting, design, and brand management, Loys has always been drawn to the craft of creating experiences that bring people together. She designed the concept from the ground up while living in Italy, then brought it to Amsterdam in 2024, turning a personal obsession into something the city couldn't stop talking about.
Two years in, Danique Smit joined as co-founder, bringing a background in customer experience, branding, and commercial strategy. With a strong instinct for people and partnerships, she builds the relationships that move SALO forward, from guests and collaborators to brands and venues. Where Loys shapes the creative world of SALO, Danique connects it to the people who make it grow.
Together, they run SALO out of a shared conviction that the right drink, the right space, and the right people can make any city feel like a Friday evening in Milan. That conviction now lives in two cities, and it's not stopping there.
